Today we saw Dr. Goulart at the Cancer Agency. She is a radiology oncologist, looks very young, and we were so impressed with her.
She has many of Dr. McMurtrie's qualities, and how refreshing was that! After our last visit down there with Dr. Michels she was like a breath of fresh air. She explained things in detail, dating back almost the two years that it has been. With regard to what is happening right now, she drew pictures (as Dr. McMurtrie would), and took all the time we needed.
She went over the pros and cons of radiating the lower right pelvic area, and the whole process took out a lot of the fear we felt around it. She is going to meet with Dr. Michels and Dr. McMurtrie and if they recommend radiating it, Jenny will then make up her mind as to what she wants to do. She will call us in the next couple of weeks.
There would be five treatments, each lasting about six minutes.
Meanwhile, Jenny continues to look like the picture of health, and she feels great.
Karen Simonton (of the Simonton Cancer Center in California) made her second call to us today since we have been home. Jenny continues their program on her own of course, and we are hoping that it will make a big difference.
That's it for now, I will post again in the next couple of weeks, after we get some more information.
