Friday, July 8 # 2

8:00 PM

If you have not seen the video which is accessible on the post of last night, please go there first.

Linda, Shannon and I came in to Hospice at about 1 pm today. For those of you who do not know, Linda Schmidt is Jenny's first friend in Canada. Shannon is her daughter, Jenny's goddaughter, and lives in Vancouver. Linda, since her 'retirement', has moved back to the family home on Denman Island, 2 1/2 hours from here. The Schmidt family is like Jenny's Canadian family.

Anyway, they just left to go back to our house for the night. I left home today prepared for three scenarios. Either I would go home, stay at Marg and Sandy's about 5 minutes from here, or stay here at Hospice. After being here for about three minutes, I opted for staying here.

Jenny has her eyes closed pretty much 100% of the time, except to look at you once in a while. That is rare however. When you talk to her she is definitely with it and hearing you. She gives us her opinion in a variety of ways about whatever the question is. She is so weak now that talking is sparse.

I am glad though, to see her getting lots of sleep.

I will be spending the night in a reclining chair. It looks better than the pull out bed.
