Monday, February 22

If you have not been here for awhile, please scroll down. This is the third post since last Friday, the 19th.

Sophie and the Torch

Jenny wanted me to relate this story to you and post the photos.

On Friday, Feb 12, Sophie was with us when we went to Jenny's pre-chemo treatment with the oncologist (we look after her on Fridays). We were put into a room, and as we waited for the doctor, I decided I should take Sophie for a little walk around the floor so she would not get too bored.

As we walked down the hall, a woman (someone who works there) came toward us saying, "oh isn't she cute (and of course my grandmotherly pride was enormous!). We need to take her picture with the (Olympic) torch.
It turns out that some other woman who works there had run in the torch relay the day before and had her torch at the clinic with her.

Sophie, by the way, was dressed in her official Olympic sweat shirt as you will see in the photos. And - it was the day of opening ceremonies.

So she goes and gets the woman and her torch and hands it to Sophie (and I as it is too big and heavy for Sophie to hold alone). Someone has a camera and the picture taking began. When I looked around afterward, there were 11 people standing around watching this. Now that I have seen the photos, I realize there were even more. Here are a couple of the photos. You can click on them to enlarge.

Who says an oncology appointment can't be fun?!
