Today was Jenny's intake meeting at the cancer clinic. That is the meeting where you meet with the medical oncologist for the information you need to start chemo. Most of it was familiar to us, but the really good part was what he had to say about CAELYX.
He went on to say that it is a good and effective treatment, and that she would not lose her hair. This is a real bonus, for obvious reasons. When you are going through this process and lose your hair, it is a constant reminder, every time you look in the mirror.
Her first treatment is for Monday, December 21. We are bopth feeling very 'up' about it. This is good.
The past two weeks have been filled with anxiety, especially when she was having symptoms and we did not know but were feeling the worst. Now there is a plan, all the doctors are feeling optimistic and singing the praises of this new chemo, so we are set to go.
CAELYX will be mixed with carbo, one of the same ones as last time. The new one is a replacement for one used last time, called taxil.
