Friday, June 3

I just noticed that the last post was dated Tuesday, May 31. It was actually Wednesday.

Jenny has improved steadily in the past couple of days. Yesterday, the dietician came and gave us some very useful information. She told us about a particular kind of protein powder, called Beneprotein that is just that - protein. It is tasteless, and dissolves easily in just about anything. You have to ask for it from behind the pharmacy counter, because it is not a balanced protein drink that is a meal replacement. It is fantastic. Danielle, the dietician said to put it in almost anything, and that is what I am doing.

She has taken to eating a small amount of cereal VERY early in the morning. Wednesday it was 6:10, yesterday it was 4:40. Last night I got smart and put cereal in a bowl, and the milk laced with this protein powder in an insulated bag with cold packs, and put it in the bathroom for her. It was 4 AM when she ate it! The good news is that she is wanting it.

There were several other suggestions that Danielle made, so I made a list and went and got everything for her.

Rob is going to take a trip down to Las Vegas and San Francisco on Sunday, and return on Friday. It was always the plan that she would take a side trip somewhere while here. She is certainly a big help here, and it is so nice for Jenny (and I too) to have her here.

The nurses will be in this afternoon to change the dressing and drain Jenny. It will be nterestng to see how much she has accumulated in the five days. Usually, it is at about 7 to 9 days that it starts to bother her. So one would think there is something there by now.

That's about it for now.
