The nurse had suggested calling a non emergency ambulance as I told her that getting her to the car and into the hospital etc would be next to impossible. I told Jenny what the nurse had said, and she said she could not deal with "being in the lineup at emergency and lying on a stretcher". She wanted me to call one of the nurses on the floor where she had been in the hospital.
I did that, and between that nurse and I we decided to wait to see how long before she next upchucked. Next time was 2:30 AM, so I figured we had had five hours behind us, so may as well wait. She actually went about 15 hours the next time. That continued, but slowed down, and now she has not had an episode for about 27 hours. Whew. It was a bit of an ordeal.
Including her time in the hospital, she was 48 hours in one position, on her back. In the hospital her bedhead was elevated, and at home she was on 3 pillows. Finally, this morning, she took away one pillow and slept on her side.
At 6:10 this morning she was wanting cereal. Though it was only a small amount she ate, it was a sign that things were improving. She has had only small amounts today, and kept it down. She did not even gag when I cooked dinner tonight. Last night she could not tolerate the smells from the kitchen.
This morning she sat on the deck with Rob and I, and she got up and watched the hockey game from her Lazyboy chair. So things have improved dramatically.

Tuesday the nurse came to the house to check out the drain site, and check on her. What a great service it is. She is coming back on Friday with another nurse and they are going to drain her.
Thursday morning a dietician is coming. I requested it to see if she has any tricks of the trade with respect to getting some nutrients into Jenny.
So - that has been our week so far. I will post again soon.
